Mattie Shisko is an actress, producer, educator and mother. Starting her career as a student at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney Australia at the age of 19, she has gone on to work on stage, screen, television, radio and more recently in the classroom for Vancouver Film School and as a an independent producer. She has been nominated for her work as best actress for Perth Theatre Company in Western Australia for “Laundry and Bourbon,” has toured throughout Australia and Singapore with Tim Winton’s celebrated story “Lockie Leonard Human Torpedo” for PTC and has won awards for Producing and Casting at the Jewish Film Festival in Vancouver and Feel Good Film Festivals in LA California for her first Feature Film– “Complexity.” She has had guest roles in Australian and Canadian Television series, has voiced several commercials and radio plays for the ABC, BBC and CBC. In the last 10 years Mattie has been acting coach to young actors in some of North America’s most notable Film and TV Series, including Tron, Diary of a Whimpy Kid and Smallville. She is currently Producing and Directing a Short Film, Floor Separation and has been a lead educator and Senior Instructor for the Vancouver Film School for 15 years.
